OMG!

Has it really been that long?? I'm afraid it has.
But I'm still very much alive, in Real Life and in Second Life.

I'm cross stitching my fingers into numbness to finish the Round Robin we started about a year ago with some women from the cross stich yahoo group "Het borduurhoekje" My own piece has returned safely, but between my first and second life occupations, Simone's RR is only half finished.

Between work, Artis, the RR and my second life, I'm also reading and trying out everything I can about Web 2.0 and the (new) Librarian 2.0. So you can find me on Twitter, Facebook, Bibliotheek 2.0, Netvibes oh and Hyves. :)

Animal pleasures / Reading pleasures

I spend 2,5 hours on Guppywood yesterday. Evacuating all the guppy's (unfortunately, one female jumped to her death during that event, but all the others made it savely to their teporarely location) removing 30 liters of water. and then the little rocks on the bottem to find this:

There is no soil in Guppywood. This is all kinds of yukkiness coming from the guppys processing their food. But like I said after 2,5 hours, al the guppys (but the one who jumped) could savely return to their fresh and clean Guppywood.

I will put some more plants in it, as soon as I can find the time to visit the pet shop.

This morning it was time for sun, cross stich and Nina Simone. Ayla loves to bask in the sun and she always find herself a sunny spot, anywhere.

I just had my lunch and now its time to dwell in the world of Carpathians, vampires and sultry seduction, along with some paranormal suspence and violent battles, created by Christine Feehan in her "Dark" Series. I am re-reading the entirely serie, after re-reeading the "Ghostwalker" series. I am a great fan of her books. :)

Simone found this in a recycle-shop and thought of me. So she bought it and sent it to me. What a nice surprise! Thnx Simone, it is great and I will try it out.


I also got my order from "De Handwerk Boetiek" with my 'Sara Tobias book' and the LHN "The Bookshelf"


I'll be working today, but after that: 4 whole weeks of holidays.
I can't wait :D

She also added some lavender couloured 1/2in Martha Stewart crafts ribbon (I love Martha!) ; Cresent Coulours Hand dyed Floss Purple Aster; another skein of silk floss in a pruple/pink colour and a bag of Lavender & Mint bath tea..

Jennifer wrote to me that she saw some punk themed books in my library. "... that reminded me of a phrase I had seen on a cross stitch piece on Flickr, one that I had been wanting to do for some time."

Make a wish..

and it may come true.
We had a sort of RAK at my dutch xxx-stitch yahoogroup Borduurhoekje. You stated something you wanted, and anybody could make your wish come true.

I wished for some Anchor floss for Nova and Simone got me those.

I wished me a lavender or lime biscornu.
And Jeanine granted my wish, look:

I sent some felt, ribbons and lace to Willeke.

The 'make a wish fair' is closed for now, but I'm sure we will open it again some day. It's great fun to get little presents and not knowing who sent them, at first. We told later. But sending anonymous gifts is alsoa lot of fun.

Birdhouse exchange

Yesterday I received a package from Pascale for the birdhouse exchange organized by the Dutch xxx-stitch group Borduurhoekje.

Goodies and a new toy.

Today I went with Danny to the Textiel Plus dag. Textiel Plus ("Textile +" is a Dutch magazine) organised a day filled with inspiration, a market, lectures (which we did not attent) and lots and lots of felt (which we did not like)

What we did like was this:

:D So I bought one and Danny has one in back order.
Isn't it a cutey? :)))

I have to wait at least 4 hours now for the glue to dry, so I won't be waeving untill tomorrow.

But I have some other goodies too:

Belfast 32 count linen, white 32 count evenwave fabric and some Lingarn. It's less red in real as it looks like in the picture.

It was a very nice day, and tomorrow I will play with my new toy :)

That was one of the prsent's Ive been workon on. As soon as I hear my second present has arrived on the birthday-girl's door mat, I will show that one here too..

Darning D = done

I've done a lot of stitching and knitting today, but mostly on gifts, so no pictures of that.
But I also stitched on my stitchers alfabet and the D is done. I needed to sew on the tiny beads and stitch the golden threads.

This morning the sun was shining in my craft room:

So while I was basking in the sun, enjoying my room I noticed Poison Ivy's Pottery, which I've been neglecting for a long time:

I did not dare to open the shop, but look at the roofgarden, it's a mess!

The trash bin needs to be cleaned out real soon...

An oh my god.. is that cat hair I see???

But the problem is.. I have Nova almost ready to stitch.
I have the fabric, but it needs to be prepaired, and most of the floss is also ready to be used..

And I'm afraid I have a new obsession:

But the main issue is time.. I have to go to work now. We are expecting our 1.000.000.000th visitor since the library opened her doors on 07-07-'07. Lots of important people coming to have a celebration this afternoon.. I beter get dressed for work and stop dreaming about my projects.

Luckely for me I'm reading the Monica Ferris books. Right now I'm reading Crewel Yule. That's at least a little stitching comfort during my tram-ride to work and when I'm on my diner break :D

After work, I'll be at Mulligans with my friends. Danny Guinan is playing tonight.

It is so much fun, last night I was flipping pages and then I saw these:
